THE MAN WHO CALLED ME AN “ART TERRORIST” HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE; Why Is He Opening His Cupboard To Show His Skeletons?
On July 2, 2022, a man named Randall Smith published the first in a barrage of cranky-pants rants about me on ripoffreport.com, a scurrilous site that purports to be a “clearinghouse for customer complaints”.
Smith recently escalated his attacks, including an allegation he published in September 2023 claiming the death of artist Alfredo Martinez was due to unspecified “cyber bully blogs” I’d published.
Randall S. Smith, an Illinois resident who claims to have a Basquiat collection worth over $700 million, has a significant overlap with at least two of the players involved in the Orlando Museum Basquiat case: Talin Maltepe and Jason Halter of Toronto.
I took a long break from writing about fraud and crime.
But, instead of hiring an attorney to consider a cease-and-desist action, Smith continues his online harassment.
I can take it, but it appears that although Smith’s Basquiat backstory is strikingly similar to the OMA myth, he’s sticking to the fiction that his “Basquiats” are authentic.
Wonder why he hasn’t talked with federal law enforcement?
And why has he revealed damning facts in his daily barrage of unsolicited revelations?
Full disclosure: in 2018, I volunteered for Traverse City Film Festival. I served as the Concessions Manager.
Somehow, Smith conflates management of a noted film festival’s concessions operations (including ordering, financial analysis, etc.) with managing a concessions stand.
